Strategy for the General: Run Against Congress?

That is the shrewd advice being given to Senator McCain by Jennifer Rubin of Commentary Magazine.  The advice was recently echoed by Adam C. of Red State, and many other keen political observers, as well.

    I think that is an excellent idea. Independents generally like the idea of split power, conservatives won’t be offended, and most people aren’t happy with Congress.

    for GOP candidates. follow the leader. adopt mccain’s issues on climate change, iraq, anti-pork barrel and wasteful spending.

    except for immigration. that’s where republican candidates should differ from Mccain and bush.
