Another Veep Suitor…Huck?
As the Democrats continue to duke it out (IN, NC, Oy!), Sen. McCain is hard at work building the coalition necessary to win in November. Yesterday he was on the trail with Fred Thompson. A few weeks ago, he was palling around with Mitt Romney. Then it was Gov. Bobby Jindal in Louisiana.
Somehow, I missed that he and Mike Huckabee stumped for a bit together. And boy were they chummy! Cut to the tape aboard the Straight Talk Express:

Mike Huckabee is a good choice for VP. As a way to unite the GOP, I think before John McCain announces a VP. It may be a good Idea to run some ads and commericals with the all the other guys that ran, to remind their supporters that we are all on the same team. I have friends that liked Ron Paul alot that I can’t convince to vote for McCain. But If McCain had an ad that had lets say Ron Paul, Huckabee, and John McCain going on a hunting trip together. And they get out of the truck pull out an M1 Garand, SKS, take aim at a Pope and Young trophy buck. The cut to a clip of Clinton or Obama talking about the Clinton Gun Ban. Then it goes back to the hunting scene and they stop the camera and remove the gun from the guy taking aim. ( to make it appear as the guns disappeared and vanished into thin air) then let Ron talk about the 2nd Amendment.
Sam Brownback, Mitt Romney, Rudy, Fred Thompson, Duncan Hunter, Alan Keys, Tom Tancredo all had some supporters out there that may or may not be will to Join the McCain team. If these guys would be willing to do political ads for McCain it will help their remind their supporters that even though their candidate did not will it is still important to get out an support the GOP.

I believe Colin Powell would be the perfect VP choice if he would agree. You would have two real American heroes against a candidate who has demonstrated he lacks the courage or desire to stand against those who hate America. General Powell is eminently qualified for the job and he would bring his knowledge and experience as a tactician and a statesman at a time when we cannot afford to give on-the-job training. He would also diffuse the cries of racism from the Obama types since he would fulfill the dream of MLK whereby people could prove that we judge a man “by the content of his character.”

Gov Huckabee will not unite the GOP. He will only further divide it. Sure he will ensure Evangelicals come out, but the support of Dr. Dobson will do that as well. I would much rather see Romney, Thompson, Steele from MD, or Jindal than Huckabee. Gov Huckabee appears to be nothing more than a Republican Obama. Well spoken, but very little substance.
