Blogs for McCain

Just came back from Manchester.  Spent the day making phone calls and waving signs.  The first task was to call Independent voters to see if they were McCain supporters and if they were willing to publically sign on to a ‘Coallition of Independent McCain Supporters’.  The call would start, ‘Hello I’m a volunteer from the John McCain campaign, can I ask you a few quick questions?’  The most common response was, ‘I’m supporting Senator McCain, but make it quick.’  Certainly this isn’t scientific, but the trend was that Senator McCain is winning the busy NH Independents that are sick of political phone calls.  Interestingly enough, I didn’t even have a second place contender, a few said they were voting Democrat, but the most prevelent answer to who they were supporting was McCain. 

An even less scientific guage of support came from waving signs at a busy intersection near the New Hampshire mall.  There was a lot of horn honking and waving.  He certainly had a good chunck of Christmas shopper support.  So who knows how indicative busy NH Independents and Southern NH Christmas shoppers are of the whole state, but combine that with good turn out to a variety of events that featured the Senator this week, and it reflects the continued swell of support and momentum evident throughout the state.
